In the world of automated content, generating generic narratives isn’t enough—it’s essential to tailor them to specific audiences or unique situations. Scenarios, a feature within Narrativa® Navigator, enable the creation of multiple content versions based on predefined conditions. This advanced tool ensures that every piece of content is accurate, relevant, and aligned with the expectations of your target audience.

What is a Scenario?

Scenarios are a core feature within projects on Narrativa® Navigator, allowing for content generation tailored to specific contexts. Using rules and operators, you can define how the content will react to different circumstances, ensuring relevance and precision in every situation.

For example:

  • Use a Scenario to customize a financial report based on the reader’s country.
  • Adjust the tone of the content depending on whether the audience is technical or general.
  • Create platform-specific content variations, such as tailored versions for different social media networks.

In essence, a Scenario is a logical framework that enables automated personalization, ensuring more relevant and impactful content.

Example: earthquake information management

Suppose you work for an organization that provides real-time earthquake reports and need to tailor messages based on the validation stage of the seismic event:

  • Scenario: Preliminary Report (Immediate Data)
“A preliminary earthquake of magnitude 5.4 has been detected at 14:32 UTC in the Andes region. This information is subject to review and updates.”
  • Scenario: Reviewed Report (Validated Data by Specialists)
“The earthquake recorded at 14:32 UTC in the Andes has been reviewed. The magnitude has been adjusted to 5.6. We recommend following official updates.”
  • Scenario: Consolidated Report (Confirmed and Final Data)
“The earthquake in the Andes, occurring at 14:32 UTC, has been confirmed with a definitive magnitude of 5.6. No significant damages have been reported in nearby areas.”

How to create a Scenario in Narrativa® Navigator

Remember, a Scenario represents a specific context in which the content is intended to be used or applied. It defines the conditions under which the content must fulfill a particular purpose.

The platform includes a default scenario, DEFAULT, which acts as a safety net:

  • If no other scenario’s conditions are met, the system automatically triggers the DEFAULT scenario.

This guarantees that there’s always a response available, even in unforeseen situations.

Step-by-step guide to create a Scenario

  1. Access the Scenario Menu
    • Within your project, click on the dropdown arrow in the scenario menu.
    • Select “Create New Scenario” to begin configuring a new context.
  2. Define the Scenario Conditions
    • Use available data from your dataset and AI Recipes to establish the context.
    • Apply comparison operators to define the rules for scenario activation:
      • = : Equals
      • < : Less than
      • > : Greater than
      • <= : Less than or equal to
      • >= : Greater than or equal to
      • != : Not equal to
  3. Create Complex Rules with AND and OR
    • Use AND to require that all conditions be met simultaneously.
    • Use OR to trigger the scenario if any condition is met.
    • Combine AND and OR for complex rules.
  4. Set Scenario Priority
    • Ensure more specific rules have higher priority than the DEFAULT scenario.
    • This ensures logical flow and relevant application.
  5. Test Your Scenario
    • Generate content using the scenario to validate the logic.
    • Adjust the rules as needed to achieve the desired output.

Example: Earthquake Scenarios

Suppose you manage an emergency portal and want to customize earthquake reports based on the analysis stage:

  • Scenario 1: Preliminary Report
    • Condition: status = "preliminary"
    • Message: “A preliminary earthquake of magnitude 5.2 has been detected. Data is still under review.”
  • Scenario 2: Reviewed Report
    • Condition: status = "reviewed"
    • Message: “The earthquake magnitude has been adjusted to 5.4. The epicenter is located 10 km north.”
  • Scenario 3: Consolidated Report
    • Condition: status = "consolidated"
    • Message: “The earthquake of magnitude 5.4 occurred at 14:35. No significant damages have been reported.”
  • DEFAULT Scenario
    • Automatically triggered if none of the above conditions are met.

Advantages of using Scenarios

  • Advanced personalization: Tailor content precisely to different audiences or contexts.
  • Efficiency: Automate relevant content without constant manual adjustments.
  • Flexibility: Define complex rules by combining multiple conditions.
  • Full control: Ensure content is always available, even in unexpected situations.

Benefits for your content strategy

  • Increased relevance: Deliver personalized messages that meet audience expectations.
  • Resource optimization: Save time and effort across different scenarios.
  • Scalability: Easily expand personalization without compromising quality.
