Agentic AI

Have you ever found yourself reading an article and wondering, “Was this written by AI?”
Most likely, yes. And not just when reading articles, probably while scrolling through your LinkedIn feed (those perfectly structured posts that suddenly all look the same) or browsing Amazon reviews. For now, these lines you’re reading are still written by a human.
While the use of agentic AI has grown exponentially since the launch of ChatGPT in November 2022, both types of content are now almost equally present online.
Graphite.io conducted a study on AI-generated content on the Internet, and here are the main findings.
What happened in November 2024?
- The boom of AI-generated content accelerated after the launch of ChatGPT in 2022.
- In November 2024, the number of AI-written articles temporarily surpassed human-written ones.
However, both types are now roughly balanced.

A second report from Graphite showed that search engines and chatbots tend to favor human-written content:
- On Google Search, 86% of top-ranking articles were written by humans, compared to 14% generated by AI.
- On ChatGPT and Perplexity, 82% of the cited articles were human-written, while 18% came from AI.
Moreover, AI-generated texts generally perform worse in search rankings.
The best approach? Human + AI
One of the study’s limitations was the difficulty of distinguishing between AI-generated and human-generated content. Why? Because many people use agentic AI to create a first draft and then enrich it, resulting in a hybrid mix of both.
This approach is common in journalism. For instance, in financial reporting, journalists might receive an AI-generated summary of stock market data and then add their own analysis and commentary.
Therefore, in the near future, the most effective formula will be a combination of human + AI.
